Twin Shifts, Caleb/Nathan Part 1

Caleb sat on the edge of his bed, cracking his knuckles while the senior, Nathan, paced nervously.

“You sure this is safe?” Nathan asked, adjusting the collar of his fitted gray t-shirt.

Caleb smirked. “Relax. Logan and I have been doing this for a while. You’ll barely feel a thing.”

Nathan still looked skeptical, but he was desperate. “Alright, just… don’t screw this up. My dad’s already pissed at me.”

Caleb rolled his eyes. Rich kid problems. “Yeah, yeah. You already paid, so let’s do this.”

He reached out, pressing his hand against Nathan’s forearm. The swap happened instantly. A rush of heat flooded through Caleb’s body, his vision blurring as a strange weightlessness took over. It was like being pulled out of himself and shoved into something new. Then, just as quickly as it started, everything snapped back into place.

Caleb took a sharp breath and immediately knew things had changed. His body felt heavier, thicker. He looked down—his t-shirt clung to his broad chest, the fabric stretched slightly over his muscular arms. His biceps looked huge, his skin slightly tanned. He flexed his fingers, feeling the unfamiliar callouses on his palms.

Standing up, he caught his reflection in the mirror and let out a low whistle. Damn. Nathan’s body was big. Strong chest, solid shoulders, thick legs that filled out his cargo pants. His dark hair was buzzed short, and his mustache gave him a more mature look. There were tattoos on his arm he hadn’t noticed before, and his lips were naturally pouty, giving him a cocky edge.

Across from him, Nathan—now in Caleb’s body—stumbled, gripping the desk. “Holy shit,” he muttered, touching his face. His voice sounded stunned. “I sound like you. I feel like you.”

Caleb smirked. “Yeah, no shit. That’s how this works.” He rolled his—Nathan’s—shoulders, adjusting to the broader frame. “Alright, I’ll handle your little family dinner. You just sit tight and don’t mess with my stuff.”

Nathan was still staring at himself in awe. “This is insane.”

Caleb grabbed Nathan’s car keys. “You paid until ten tomorrow morning. That’s all you get.” He glanced at his reflection one last time, adjusting his stance. “I’ll be back before you know it.”

And with that, he stepped out, walking confidently into Nathan’s life.
