When the Great Shift happened, I was making coffee in my tiny apartment, wearing my favorite pink pajama set. One blink, one cosmic jolt, and suddenly—boom—I was staring into a mirror in someone else’s bathroom. But not just anyone’s.

I recognized the tattoos instantly. My neighbor, Ethan. The guy from 4B with the thick-framed glasses, the scruffy beard, and the habit of leaving his laundry in the shared washer too long. And now, I was him.

I raised a trembling hand to my face—his face. Dark hair, stubbled jaw, a strong nose. My chest was broad, muscular, and covered in dark hair. And my stomach… was rounder than I was used to. Lowering my gaze, I felt my breath hitch. My usual petite frame was gone, replaced by Ethan’s taller, thicker body.

“What the hell?” I muttered, except the voice that came out was deep and gruff.

Panic surged. I ran to the living room and turned on the TV, quickly flipping through the channels. A flood of news reports from around the world confirmed my worst fear. The entire world had swapped bodies. Then there was a knock at the door.

“Hello?” a voice—my voice—called.

I opened the door, and there she was—me. My body. My wide, green eyes looking up at me in shock.

“Oh my God,” she whispered. “We need to fix this.”
