I never took the FOSE seriously. Scientists warned us of what was coming—some cosmic anomaly was causing people to swap bodies during sex if they were thinking about someone else while they orgasmed. It sounded like a joke, like something out of a bad sci-fi flick. But then it happened and I was affected.
I was with Jessica, my girlfriend of two years, when it hit. One second, I was in my own body, lost in the moment. The next, I was somewhere else—some one else. My skin tingled, my vision blurred, and suddenly, I was staring up at my own younger brother, Alex. On top of me.
Panic surged through me. I tried to move, to speak, but all I managed was a confused, breathy sound. Alex looked down, concern flashing across his face.
“Chris? You okay?” His voice was tender, loving.
Chris. That’s when it hit me. I wasn’t me anymore. I was in Chris’s body. My brother’s boyfriend.
Oh, God.
The realization made my stomach churn. I had been with Jessica, but… I’d been thinking about someone else. I hadn’t meant to—I just remembered Alex mentioning Chris earlier, and my brain went off on a tangent. And now, I was here.
With my own brother.
“Chris?” Alex said again, brow furrowed.
I swallowed hard. “Uh… yeah. Just… dizzy.”
