Logan adjusted the beanie on his head, taking one last glance at himself in the mirror. Brielle’s body had become second nature to him over the past month—he moved with her confidence, dressed like she did, even got used to the attention that came with being her. But now, standing in her fitted white tank top and checkered shorts, he was finally about to step out of her life for good.
And he was so ready.
A knock at the door snapped him from his thoughts. He opened it to find Brielle and Caleb standing there, Brielle looking as impatient as ever while Caleb just crossed his arms, giving Logan a knowing look.
“About damn time,” Brielle said, brushing past him into the apartment. “No offense, but I need to be me again.”
Logan smirked, closing the door behind them. “Trust me, the feeling’s mutual.”
Brielle tossed her bag onto the couch before turning to him, hands on her hips. “You didn’t do anything weird with my body, right?”
Caleb let out a sharp laugh. “Oh, you have no idea.”
Logan shot him a glare before turning back to Brielle. “Look, I kept your life together, your reputation intact, and handled all your responsibilities. If anything, you should be thanking me.”
Brielle rolled her eyes. “Whatever, let’s just fix this.”
Logan stepped forward, grabbing her wrist. For the first time in a month, he felt the familiar rush of warmth, the sensation of his mind being pulled out of Brielle’s body and shoved back into his own. His senses blurred, his equilibrium tilted—and then, just like that, he was himself again.
His first breath felt foreign, like his lungs had to reacquaint themselves with their usual size. He blinked down at his hands, flexing his fingers, rolling his shoulders. His body felt right again.
Across from him, Brielle gasped as she clutched her own chest, running her hands over her curves as if to make sure everything was still in place. Then she exhaled in relief. “Oh my god, finally.”
Caleb clapped Logan on the back. “Welcome back to the world of men. Try to stay in it this time.”
Logan groaned, rubbing his face. “Yeah, about that.” He glanced at his twin. “New rule—I’m done swapping with female clients. At least for a while.”
Caleb smirked. “Oh, you think? Took you long enough.”
Brielle grabbed her bag, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “Well, boys, it’s been… interesting.” She shot Logan a smirk. “Next time, try not to get stuck in my body for a month.”
Logan rolled his eyes, but as he watched her walk out, he couldn’t help but laugh. Lesson learned.
