College wasn’t what you thought it’d be. Endless assignments, group projects, professors who didn’t care—it all felt like a waste of time. You were only 19, but already sick of being treated like a kid. One afternoon, walking back from class, you saw something strange sitting at the base of a tree. A purple Easter egg, marked with a swirling yellow design.
It called to you. You picked it up, cracked it open, and felt a strange warmth settle in your chest.
The next morning, everything changed.
You woke up groggy, in a bed that wasn’t yours. Your body felt heavier, slower. When you dragged yourself to the mirror, the man staring back at you was older. Much older. Broad-shouldered, with a bit of a gut and scruffy facial hair—someone in his late 40s. Your reflection looked like it had been through life. Married life.
Then came the voices—two little kids calling “Dad!” from down the hall.
Panic set in, but the truth hit fast. You weren’t in college anymore. You weren’t even 20. That egg hadn’t just aged you—it had rewritten your life. And there was no going back.
You had wanted to be a grown-up. Now you were. Whether you liked it or not.
