Life had become too much. Work emails at 2 a.m., bills piling up, no time to breathe. You’d started dreaming of escaping it all—just vanishing, starting over somewhere quieter, somewhere simpler.
That’s when you found it.
A white Easter egg with a red circle painted perfectly in the center. Something about it reminded you of the Japanese flag. You picked it up without thinking. The moment your fingers brushed the surface, the world blurred.
You passed out.
When you came to, you weren’t in your cluttered apartment anymore. You were in a clean, brightly lit studio, cameras flashing. A stylist fixed your tie. A photographer gave directions—in Japanese. And you understood every word.
You looked down: tight dress shirt, defined chest, strong arms. You were someone new. A Japanese man. A model, judging by the setup. You looked in the mirror and hardly recognized the face staring back.
The shoot finished, and you went home—your new home. You tried to remember your old name, your old life, but the thoughts were slipping. The only language in your mind now was Japanese.
You went to sleep hoping it was just a dream.
But the next morning, it was all still real.
The gym bag was already packed. You dressed and headed out, body moving on autopilot—like this was normal. Permanent. You didn’t know your old self anymore, but as you glanced at your reflection—sharp, clean-cut, fit—you weren’t sure you wanted him back.
